Chilliwack General Hospital Redevelopment

New laboratory, emergency department and ambulatory care

Bookmark and Share

The $35 million expansion of Chilliwack General hospital is now complete. The new facility is now fully operational with a new laboratory, emergency department and ambulatory care environments.

The upgrades to Chilliwack hospital will improve patient care. The new facilities also provide nurses and doctors with fantastic working space and provide the hospital with the space needed to meet the growing needs of Chilliwack and its surrounding communities.

The CGH Redevelopment Project broke ground in November 2008 and was completed on schedule in 2011. The project is a partnership between the Fraser Valley Regional Hospital District (FVRHD), Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation (FVHCF), B.C. Ministry of Health Services and Fraser Health. The FVRHD has provided $30 million and the FVHCF has committed to providing $5 million.

This capital funding complements the more than $2 billion provided to Fraser Health annually by the B.C. government to meet the health care needs in our communities. Hospital facilities and health services will continue to be managed and operated by Fraser Health.
