Community Care Facilities Licensing

The Community Care Facilities Licensing program protects and promotes the health, safety and well-being of children, youth and adults in licensed care facilities. We provide public assurance that persons in care are provided for in a healthy and safe environment. All facilities must be in compliance with various community care, residential and assisted living acts and regulations.

Our licensing officers

The role of our licensing officers includes: 

• Issuing licences to community care facilities
• Monitoring and inspecting facilities on a routine basis
• Responding to complaints
• Investigating allegations of unsafe, inappropriate or abusive care (e.g. physical, sexual, emotional or financial abuse)
• Investigating unlicensed facility complaints
