Advisory

Please note that Burnaby Hospital's new Health Care Pavilion will open on March 10, 2026. See below for updated entrance locations and times.

Between 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.:

  • Visitors can enter the hospital via the West Wing Entrance, or the new East and South Entrances
  • Pick-up and drop-off stalls are available at both the West Wing Entrance and East Entrance
  • If you’re traveling by bus, please use the West Wing Entrance.
  • Use the Level 1 Central Link to access the Health Care Pavilion from the West Wing, Support Facilities and Nursing Tower buildings. Please look for signage on site.

For after-hours between 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.:

  • Please park in the Emergency Parking Lot and enter through the Emergency entrance.
  • There are a total of five accessible parking stalls in the Emergency parking lot, which are available 24/7.
  • Please note: When entering the Emergency Entrance after hours, please go down to the Central Link on Level 1 of the Support Facilities Building to access the Health Care Pavilion.

General advisory

As part of Burnaby Hospital’s redevelopment, sections of some corridors may be temporarily closed overnight to accommodate construction activities. During these periodic closures, please follow the posted signage for alternative routes to reach your destination.

Burnaby Hospital is a large community hospital which provides a full range of primary and secondary acute care services as well as a number of specialized services such as 24/7 emergency care, general and internal medicine, general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, level one and two obstetrics, neonatal intensive care and tertiary palliative care, adult psychiatry, ambulatory care and other outpatient clinics.

Want to send well wishes to a friend or family member in hospital? Send an email to YouveGotMail.BUH@fraserhealth.ca that includes the patient's full name, unit, and room number, along with your message, and it will be hand-delivered by a volunteer. Note: Patients are unable to send a response through this service. 

  • We are a smoke and scent-free environment. Please avoid perfume, cologne or scented flowers when visiting.
  • Fraser Health prohibits self-management (injection, inhalation/smoking or other means) of illicit drugs in hospitals or hospital sites outside of designated overdose prevention services and sites. If you need assistance in learning about our overdose prevention sites please visit the webpage here, or speak to your health care provider.
  • If you are not feeling well or have been exposed to an infectious disease, please do not visit.
  • Patients are provided with shared rooms.
  • The cafeteria has grab-and-go sandwiches and snacks

Designated patient and visitor parking is available at Parkade Level P2 and Emergency Parking Lot.

Cell Phone Waiting area: 20-minute vehicle waiting area located on Ingleton Avenue near Kincaid Street. NOTE: Drivers must stay in vehicles at all times. Unattended vehicles may be ticketed. Learn more here.
