The Madison is a three-storey long-term care community with two neighbourhoods on each floor.
The Madison provides 24-hour professional nursing services to people who are no longer able to stay at home safely.
We deliver person-centred and best practice care in a respectful, caring and responsible manner by working together with our residents, their primary caregivers, families and Fraser Health. We believe in providing a caring environment that nurtures the holistic well-being of the residents, supports relationships within the community and encourages the growth and development of both residents and our care team.
We believe our residents deserve excellence in care and we strive to achieve this by working as a team towards our common goal – a happy and healthy resident.
We are a non-denominational facility and accept residents of all nationalities, languages, cultures and religious affiliations. Although English is our primary language, we have staff members who speak English, Punjabi and Tagalog.
The Madison has 137 long-term care beds; 96 beds are publicly subsidized. There are 119 single occupancy and nine double occupancy rooms.
Features
| Room features | Room features include an electric hospital bed, dresser, bedside table, wardrobe and all linens. We recommend residents bring in a favourite chair, lamp, television, telephone and decorative items that will personalize their room. There are cable outlets and telephone jacks in each room. For safety reasons we do not allow rocking chairs, small rugs and electric heating pads. |
| Accessibility | We cannot accommodate motorized scooter or electric wheelchairs. The site is wheelchair accessible, manual wheelchairs are used throughout the building. |
| Security | Security features include door with keypads and video monitoring of common areas, entrances and exits. Call bells are in all bedrooms and bathrooms. |

| Parking and transportation | Handicap and visitor parking available on site. Public transit nearby. |
| Additional site features | The Madison is located in Coquitlam, walking distance from Como Lake and convenience stores. |
Programs
| Social and recreation programs | The Madison has a robust recreation program for the residents. Activities are scheduled throughout the building seven-days-a-week. Activities include word games, puzzles, exercise class, music programs, baking, crafts and holiday celebrations. |
| Spiritual program | Interdenominational church services are held every Sunday, with several local community churches contributing. A variety of other spiritually based programs are available throughout the week as well. |
| Pets | We have a regular pet visiting program in place. We welcome visits from family pets if we have the current immunization paperwork on file. |

| Hairdressing | Hair salon or barber available three times a week with associated fee. |
| Foot and nail care | Foot care nurse services available every four to six weeks for an additional fee. |
