Patients treated in the Acute Care for the Elderly Unit (ACE) are usually 75 years or older who have suddenly fallen seriously ill, have a number of medical problems at one time and are at risk of losing the ability to function independently.
Our ACE Unit team is specially trained to address these issues and to help patients get well quickly so they can return home.
How we help patients?
Our team has specialized skills and knowledge to treat seniors. For instance, a patient who needs to eat well balanced meals will get help from a dietitian. A patient recovering from a fall or who has difficulty walking will get help from a physiotherapist. Whatever your challenge, our team is here to help you maintain or improve your ability to be mobile and live at home as independently as possible.
