Connecting and supporting First Nations, Métis and Inuit people, their families, and mental health staff to provide culturally appropriate services.
Indigenous mental health case manager and Indigenous mental health liaison services
Indigenous Mental Health Liaisons can provide assessment, referral, counselling support services and mental health education to clients and families, as well as connecting clients with other mental health programs and services in hospital and community.
Indigenous Mental Health Liaisons provide invaluable support and services to Fraser Health’s First Nations, Métis and Inuit clients and family members. From supporting and advocating for clients, to assisting and educating health professionals in caring for Indigenous clients, to helping patients understand and navigate the health care system - we are here to ensure Indigenous patients receive culturally safe, appropriate, and timely care whether in hospital or community.
