Safe and supportive environment for youth, adults and their families dealing with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder and binge eating disorder.
An eating disorder is an illness characterized by constant disturbance in the persons eating habit and affects the persons physical and mental health. An eating disorder generally includes symptoms of severe distress or concern about body weight or shape, and affects both females and males as well as children, youth and adults.
Our eating disorders program provides a range of services in a safe and supportive environment to both youth and adults, and their families, who are dealing with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder and binge eating disorder.
Our services include community-based individual and family therapy, group therapy, psycho-educational sessions and information and education for the public and health professionals.
Guided by the needs of our clients, we provide specialized outpatient services which may include:
- Medical, psychological, psychiatric, nutritional and family assessment
- Group therapy
- Individual therapy
- Family therapy
- Medical and nutritional support
- Consultation to GPs and other health care providers
- Liaison/referral to tertiary eating disorders programs

Hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Access
Eligibility
Youth and adults, and their families, who are dealing with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder and binge eating disorder.
Referral
- Clients are referred into our program by their family doctors.
- All clients are required to have their family doctor complete a detailed referral including current lab and electrocardiogram.
- Referrals will be assessed by our team, and prioritized according to urgency on the basis of that assessment.
- In collaboration with the client, an initial treatment plan will be recommended.
- If needed, youth and adults will be referred to provincial tertiary facilities at St. Paul's Hospital, B.C. Children's Hospital and Looking Glass Residence.
