We participate in accreditation to evaluate and enhance our services and demonstrate they meet national quality standards.
Fraser Health is committed to its journey towards excellence. While there are opportunities for improvement, there is also cause for acknowledging our achievements. We are proud of the quality of care we provide, which is assessed and validated though the Accreditation Canada process.
How does accreditation work?
Fraser Health participates in the four-year Accreditation Canada process as a means to embed quality improvement and patient safety into ongoing strategic planning and operations.
Our teams conduct an internal self-assessment to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement. Then expert national surveyors conduct an external assessment to validate the quality of care provided to patients, clients and residents.
When are results posted?
Because of our large size and complexity, we have two survey visits per four-year cycle, with different teams participating in each visit. In addition, we submit progress reports to Accreditation Canada, as requested.
