Depicting concepts and solutions

We use illustration when we need to visually represent an idea, convey a message or deliver information when photography/videography is not available.
Here are some guidelines about how to create or choose illustrations.

Style

When illustrating scenes in images or infographics, do use solid colour shapes; don’t use clipart.

Simplicity

Avoid visual details that are not essential to understand content. Illustrations should be easily recognizable and clearly convey what every element is.

Usage rights

Always abide by usage rights from the illustration provider and ensure you are fully licensed for every multi-media element you use in every project. Contact communications@fraserhealth.ca for more information.
