Eagle Ridge staff and medical staff got a first glimpse of the new system that will change the way we care for patients; across the region.
On Thursday, March 10, 2022, direct care providers, clinical and administrative staff at Eagle Ridge Hospital got a first glimpse of the new system that will change the way we care for patients across the region. There was a sense of excitement and anticipation in the room as attendees were introduced to the Advance Program. The Advance Program is the transformation of our current clinical information system to a new platform called MEDITECH® Expanse.
"This is truly an exciting time for Fraser Health,” said Laurie Leith, Vice President, Regional Hospitals and Health Services. "By taking on the role of the first site to create and launch the infrastructure, Eagle Ridge is paving the way for the entire region to transform care."
Attendees also met their clinical site champions, learned about how they would receive training, tried some of the new devices, and viewed a demo of the Expanse system. Attendees enjoyed trying the new technology they'll use in their day-to-day work.
"There will be bumps along the road to implementing Advance; this is not like your overnight Microsoft Office home upgrade that looks the same when you turn on your computer the next day," said Scott Brolin, Executive Director at Eagle Ridge Hospital. "But we need to continue moving our health care and our information systems forward into this century. MEDITECH® Expanse is a critical foundation to helping us accomplish this."
Eagle Ridge will Go-Live with Advance on April 15, 2023. Work is underway to determine a roadmap for implementing Advance at remaining sites across the region.
Watch for updates on Eagle Ridge Hospital's journey to Go-Live and stay tuned for more information about when Advance will be coming to your site.
