MEDITECH® Expanse will give providers more patient-facing time and increased efficiency with access to the Electronic Health Record through mobile devices
Fraser Health has selected MEDITECH® Expanse to transform care and promote better health outcomes for the more than 1.9 million people it serves throughout 20 diverse communities. The system's mobile technology will give providers more patient-facing time and increased efficiency with access to the Electronic Health Record (EHR) through mobile devices. Expanse will also provide advanced clinical functionality, including bedside medication verification, computerized provider order entry, and physician documentation.
"Fraser Health serves one of the fastest-growing regions in Canada and features a diverse patient population," said Brent Kruschel, Vice President, Informatics, Technology, and Facilities, Fraser Health. "We needed a platform that would be able to evolve with us while serving as the springboard to advance care in all of our settings. The opportunities with Expanse are significant and we look forward to the improved outcomes that it will support."
The Expanse implementation will drive process standardization and best practices across the enterprise. This will enable seamless transitions of care as both patients and providers move in and out of different care settings.
As a long-term Client/Server customer, Fraser Health's relationship with MEDITECH® was also an important factor in the organization's decision.
Fraser Health will implement Expanse across its hospitals and hospital-based clinics — which includes deployment of Expanse Ambulatory.
Additionally, they will use MEDITECH's® data repository for enhanced reporting and decision support across the continuum of care.
We are thrilled that after careful evaluation, Fraser Health selected Expanse as the platform best suited to help support their vision of Better health. Best in health care, said Helen Waters, Executive Vice President and COO, MEDITECH®." We are committed to continuing our development of technologies that empower our customers, and help them to lead the industry with innovation and exemplary care."
Fraser Health is one of five regional health authorities in B.C. working together with the Ministry of Health. A team of nearly 40,000 staff and volunteers serve Fraser Health's patients, families, and communities.
