Dr. David Wickham Is the Executive Medical Director Medical Affairs and currently Co-Acting Vice President Medicine.
In his Co-Acting Vice President Medicine role Dr. Wickham leads and supports, medical affairs, practice improvement and academic development. He is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operations of over 3200 medical staff, including physicians, midwives and nurse practitioners within the Fraser Health region.
In his Executive Medical Director role, this portfolio includes medical staff credentialing and privileging; disciplinary issues; and UBC and SFU medical students and residents.
Dr. Wickham graduated from the University of British Columbia and holds a Medical Doctor Degree and Specialty Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada – Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Wickham has over 34 years of experience and is currently a practicing orthopaedic surgeon at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and the Executive Medical Director of Medical Affairs. He has been on the medical staff since 1991 and is a Clinical Instructor Faculty of Medicine UBC in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Wickham is involved in the community as team physician/orthopaedic surgeon for the Chilliwack Chiefs Junior hockey team, Fraser Valley Bandits basketball team and orthopaedic surgeon for the Abbotsford Canucks Hockey Team.
In his role as Co-Acting Vice President Medicine Dr. Wickham will report to the CEO.
