Chilliwack long-term care community

Work is underway for a new long-term care community to provide seniors in Chilliwack and the surrounding area with access to home-like care in the community.

Construction of a new five-storey, 200-bed long-term care community in Chilliwack is expected to begin in 2026. The new community located in the 9000 block of Mary Street will replace the 90-bed Bradley Centre at Chilliwack General Hospital. Construction is estimated to be complete in 2029.

The new community will be designed with “households” − each accommodating 12 or 13 residents. Each resident will have a private single-bed room with a bathroom.

The new care community will include social and recreational spaces typical of a home, such as living rooms, dining rooms, activity areas and access to outdoor spaces. There will also be community spaces and services for residents, families, visitors and staff, such as art and activity rooms, a hair salon, a sacred space and a 32-space adult day program designed to support older adults living independently at home.
