Langley Memorial Hospital

An expanded Emergency Department and new Magnetic Resonance Imaging suite at Langley Memorial Hospital provides the community of Langley with better access to emergency and imaging services, closer to home.

The expanded Emergency Department, opened in May 2021, tripled the size of the previous department. Patient treatment bays increased from 31 to 49 and trauma bays increased from one to two. A new entrance that separates walk-in patients from those who arrive by ambulance was created, as well as a separate pediatric waiting area for children and their families.

The expansion also included a dedicated, separate treatment area for patients with mental health and substance use needs. To minimize the risk of infection in the Emergency Department, additional handwashing stations, utility rooms, a decontamination area and an isolation room were also added.

Langley Memorial Hospital’s first-ever Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) suite opened in January 2021, helping to reduce wait times and the need for patients to travel for diagnostic services.
