Do you have pediatric patients in your practice who need to catch up on routine childhood immunizations?

With more than 90 per cent of eligible people 12 years and older across our region having received at least two doses of COVID-19 vaccine, Fraser Health is ramping down its large clinics to match demand. The remaining COVID-19 clinics, along with 390 pharmacies across the region registered to administer COVID-19 vaccine to people aged 12 and over, will ensure sufficient capacity moving ahead.

In addition to COVID-19 vaccine, some of the remaining clinics will offer childhood immunizations. Fraser Health is providing an easy opportunity for children and youth to get up-to-date on immunizations such as the Tdap-IPV vaccine, which protects against tetanus diphtheria, whooping cough and polio, and the MMRV vaccine, which protects against measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox.

How can health care providers help?

Spread the word to the families of your pediatric patients ages four months or older to ensure their children are protected against vaccine-preventable diseases.

Children under four months old can still get their immunizations through their family physician, nurse practitioner or local Public Health unit.

Booking information for childhood immunizations

Parents can view the list of immunization clinics that will offer childhood and school-aged immunizations and book an appointment at Fraserhealth.ca/Childhoodimms.

How can parents check if their child’s vaccines are up-to-date?

To check if their child’s vaccines are up-to-date, please refer parents to the online Vaccination Status Indicator tool: immunizebc.ca/vaccination-status-indicator.

COVID-19 vaccine

The COVID-19 vaccine can be received at the same time or any time before or after other vaccines. Parents of children who are five years of age or older may request the COVID-19 vaccine during their routine childhood immunization appointment. Alternatively, they may register them on the Get Vaccinated provincial system to be notified of when to book an appointment.
