Courtney Wedemire, Registered Dietitian, was awarded a Fraser Health Seed grant to better understand the influence of malnutrition and sarcopenia (low muscle amounts) in patients with higher BMI on ICU outcomes.
The initial findings suggest that the identification of these factors could predict life support, nutrition and physical therapy needs for patients in the ICU.
