Indigenous mental health nurses can provide assessment, referral, counselling support services and mental health education to clients and families, as well as connecting clients with other mental health programs and services in hospital and community.

Indigenous mental health nurses provide invaluable support and services to Fraser Health’s First Nations, Métis and Inuit clients and family members. From supporting and advocating for clients, to assisting and educating health professionals in caring for Indigenous clients, to helping patients understand and navigate the health care system - we are here to ensure Indigenous patients receive culturally safe, appropriate and timely care whether in hospital or community.
