“We’re not only here to feed patients, we are also here to nourish their souls.”

"We’re not only here to feed patients, we are also here to nourish their souls. Good food brings nutrition, comfort and happiness. It’s very important to recovery. When you’re sick, you want different types of food than when you are healthy. That’s why my team and I put ourselves in the shoes of the patient when we plan our menu. Our goal is to create a better patient experience in terms of how they connect with the food we serve.

The food services employees are the biggest asset on our team. Each person works as part of a puzzle to make the department work. Without them, there would be no need for me. I work side-by-side with my staff. If the dishwasher breaks, I commit to be there with them washing dishes by hand – and trust me, there are a lot of dishes!

Outside of work you’ll find me chasing around my 18-month-old son. On Sundays, my husband and I lead worship at our church – I sing and play the piano and my husband conducts. It’s a busy life and I’m constantly striving to find my balance. The motto I live by is, “do your best and God will do the rest.”"
