I attended Abbotsford Regional Hospital surgical day care for two different procedures. My husband and I were very impressed with the quality of care provided from the minute I walked onto the unit. The reception staff quickly checked me in, the admitting nurses were very thorough and put me at ease. While waiting for my procedures the nurses ensured that I was comfortable and they were very caring.

Prior to my surgeries, the anesthesiologist came to speak to me. Again they were very professional, easy to talk to and clearly explained the process. As I have had issues with nausea following previous procedures they took note, and ensured the medication administered would assist with this. In fact, I was not nauseated at all post-op.

Prior to my procedures both surgeons, Dr. Schopf for the first surgery and Dr. Mamut for the second, came out and spoke to me as well. Once again they clearly explained the procedure and post-procedure follow-up. I truly felt comfortable and in good hands. Prior to the second procedure Dr. Mamut called in Dr. Izadi who was thorough and caring and again put me at ease. Thank you to all the doctors, including Dr.J. Cochlin and Dr. Newton and ER staff.

In the recovery room the excellent care continued. Ensuring I was managing the pain and discomfort and providing direction on what to do once I left the hospital. I wish I had noted all the names of the staff that participated in my care as they were excellent and should be commended. In conclusion, I would like to thank everyone for making my hospital visit a positive experience and providing me with the very best of care.

Now that I'm off of the pain meds and feel relief from pain, I would like just to say ‘Thank you’ to all my nurses during my stay. Tim was very kind. I'm sorry I don't remember all of your names but I recall your faces and you were all very attentive. I was in the worst pain I've experienced in my life and didn't say ‘Thank you,’ so ‘Thank you’ for checking on me and just your pleasant personalities.

I recently spent eight days at Peace Arch hospital.

I received excellent care both in Emergency and the Surgical floor.

All the nurses were good but two nurses were exceptional, both deserve mention – Cara and Susan, please pass my message on to them.
