For Abbotsford Regional Hospital
I was admitted with a ruptured appendix. I met Dr. Izadi in Emergency. I was very scared and anxious and he was so calming and friendly. He explained the process he wanted to follow for me and had me admitted.
He came to see me the next morning and then every day after. I wound up staying 13 days and my procedure turned out to be way more complicated than we both had hoped. Dr. Izadi kept constant tabs on me throughout my stay, and did an outstanding job with my surgery. I was so thankful to have had him care for me. My family is so very grateful.

For Czorny Alzheimer Centre
I was very impressed by all the officials (fire, ambulance, police, transit and staff) that were involved in Monday night’s fire at the Czorny Alzheimer Center in Cloverdale. My wife is a resident there. Fortunately there were no injuries and the residents did not need to be evacuated. There is no doubt in my mind that if any/all residents needed to be evacuated, there were sufficient staff and first responders available to do so quickly and safely.
As a primary caregiver, any worries about my wife’s safety in an emergency were put to rest last night. A most heartfelt thanks to all involved.
Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre
I would like to recognize Pam who has assisted me on several occasions when I have been to the Jim Pattison Centre. She is wonderful. Pam is always professional, polite and very efficient. She is a true asset to this facility and I very much appreciate the service she provides.
Primary Home Care Program
My Mom is a 94 year-old senior who is immobile but of sound mind. Her wishes are to stay in her own home. She has been part of the Primary Home Ca re Program for approximately three years.
This program has been a huge part of the equation because without it, she would have to call the Ambulance to go to the hospital for medical check-ups or to have her prescriptions filled.
She has had a few medical issues such as pressure sores / weeping sores which have been cared for at home and have healed up without infection.
Nurse Debbie Shields and Dr. Hugh Li have been her primary care givers over the past three years and have never been more than a phone call away. This has avoided several hospital visits. Examples of care provided include clearing wax from her ears to improve her hearing. D r. Li has ordered blood work to be handled by the Mobile Unit. He has answered the pharmacy when they fax him for a prescription renewal .He visits her approximately every three - four months. Nurse Debbie has given our caregivers advice on wound care, home aids (hospital bed etc.) She has checked her blood pressure, breathing, heart, provided nutrition suggestions as well as evaluating her mental state. The real plus is that my Mom listens to Nurse Debbie's suggestions.
Along with some great caregivers and this Primary Ca re Program, my 94 year-old Mom is doing well and is able to stay i n her own home which is where she wants to be. This program has saved many trips to the hospital thus saving a hospital bed for those who are less fortunate.
Keep up the good work with the Primary Ca re program and I hope many other patients will have a chance to stay in their own homes there by saving the taxpayers thousands of dollars. I hope this program continues to grow.
