Summer is here, bringing long days, warmer weather, vacations and outdoor activities.

It can also bring summertime health-related issues, from sunburns and ankle sprains to more serious illnesses and injuries. Knowing your care options helps you jump into the driver’s seat of your own health care journey. So, before you book it to the beach, a hike or road trip, review your care options:

  1. A family doctor or nurse practitioner
  2. Urgent and Primary Care Centres
  3. Pharmacist – birth control prescriptions and assessment and treatment of minor ailments like urinary tract infections (UTIs), pink eye and rashes now available
  4. Fraser Health Crisis Line
  5. Emergency room
  6. Fraser Health Virtual Care – registered dietitian services now

For critical or life-threatening conditions, call 9-1-1 or go to your local emergency room.
