Keary Street intersection work - The intersection at Keary Street and East Columbia Street will be closed for one day on Saturday, October 5 from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The closure is needed in order to remove the old asphalt, grade the gravel to the new design and pave the area as part of the City of New Westminster’s ‘Great Street’ project.

East Columbia Street remains open but there will be no access to or from Keary Street.

How will this affect you?

  • Drivers will not be able to turn to or from East Columbia Street onto Keary Street.
  • There will be no access to the hospital Emergency Department from Keary Street.
  • Ambulances and emergency vehicles must access the hospital via East Columbia Street.
  • The hospital’s parkade on Keary Street will only be accessible via Brunette Avenue.
  • There will be flaggers on site to assist drivers and pedestrians.
  • There will be no parking on both sides of East Columbia and Keary streets in the work area.
  • Expect delays.
