Improving health and well-being in the District of Hope and communities of the Fraser Canyon.
This initiative is an example of how health authorities, municipalities and community members can work together to identify priorities for community health, and develop and implement a plan of action. To assist other communities in developing similar health plans, the process has been documented in the Toolkit below which you are free to download.
The Journey Map is a more detailed account and is available upon request by emailing fhhopegrants@gmail.com.

Grant program for Hope and communities of the Fraser Canyon
In 2016, Fraser Health committed $500,000 annually to improving the overall health and well-being of residents of Hope and the communities of the Fraser Canyon. A portion of that funding has been allocated to a grant program: annually $25,000 is available for a one-time Macro Health grant, and $50,000 is available for one-time Micro Health grants of up to $10,000.
The objectives are to improve health and well-being, promote community inclusion and involvement, create greater awareness around health promotion and education, and improve and increase partnerships. The grants aim to assist projects that improve physical activity, healthy eating, promote social inclusion and positive mental health and reduce smoking and/or substance use.
Macro Health grant
The Macro Health grant is available once annually. The Macro Health grant initiative aims for greater community impact, fostering partnerships and using this grant as a leverage to generate opportunities that can continue over time, encourage expansions of activities and seek possible future funding opportunities. The deadline to apply is October 11, 2024.
