Fraser Health labs offer a range of tests including blood, urine and stool collection. Tests offered vary by location. Call the location ahead to confirm tests and availability.

Visit your health care provider for an assessment. If a lab test is recommended, they will provide you with a requisition form. - Booking a lab appointment at a Fraser Health location

Walk-ins are accepted, however booking an appointment is recommended to reduce your wait time. Click on a Fraser Health lab location below to view walk-in hours.
To change or cancel an appointment, log in to the online booking system or call 1-888-442-5227, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please note our booking system is separate from private laboratories.
Preparing for your test
- Follow the preparation instructions provided by your health care provider. You may also review collection instructions ahead for sputum, stool and urine tests.
- Bring your printed requisition and your BC Services Card (CareCard), or a piece of government-issued photo identification to your test.
- These tests should be collected at a specific time:
- Testosterone: before 10:00 a.m. is preferred
- Cortisol morning: before 10:30 a.m.
- Cortisol afternoon: from 3:00 p.m. until the laboratory's closing time (which varies by location)
- These tests require fasting. Follow the instructions provided by your health care provider:
- Glucose tolerance, Lipids, Amino acids
- Fasting is recommended for: Iron, bile acids.

Is the H. Pylori breath test available?
No. The Helicobacter Pylori (H. Pylori) breath test is not available within Fraser Health. Please speak with your health care provider about test availability.

Is an appointment required for therapeutic drug monitoring tests?
Appointments are strongly encouraged for therapeutic drug monitoring tests, as samples are collected just before the next dose.

What days are TBIGS-IGRA samples collected?
Samples for TBIGS-IGRA are collected from Monday to Thursday (and not on the day before a statutory holiday) at the following locations:
- Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre
- Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre in Surrey
- Royal Columbian Hospital
- Surrey Memorial Hospital

What lab tests can be ordered as STAT?

Access
Fees
Some tests are not covered by the BC Medical Service Plan (MSP). Patients not covered by MSP or other provincial health care, will be required to pay for all tests.
